In this article we are going to examine 4 myths about the Medifast diet, and see how simply debunking some common misconceptions about this program can help YOU on your weight loss journey! Read on as we shed a bright light of truth on the Medifast diet (and the fibs you’ll hear people tell) below!
Medifast is available ONLY with a Prescription
Not true! But…does have a GRAIN of truth, as it once DID require a doctors prescription to start. That has certainly changed, and now EVERYONE can get access to Medifast easily.
Medifast ONLY for people who are SERIOUSLY Overweight
Interesting one….as some of the most famous Medifast success stories have been the celebrities who have dropped MAJOR league weight while using it. Now – you could argue that SOME of them were indeed seriously overweight – (although I wouldn’t) but anyone who needs to lose 10 pounds or more would be WELL served on this diet.
Medifast is ONLY Shakes and Drinks
No – it’s not! The Medifast diet has over 60 food selections of all kinds of types and stripes….soups, coffees, eggs, bars and more!
Medifast is a Starvation Diet
No – absolutely not. You are going to have 6 meals a day, and my definition of starvation does NOT include 6 meals. One of these meals is a lean protein with healthy veggies, the other 5 are meal replacement selections of YOUR choosing!
Medifast is HIGH in Calories
Again – NOT true! Medifast is about 1000 calories a day (depending on your lean and green) and ANYONE can lose weight fast on this allotment of calories per day. It’s FILLING….because the meal replacement selections are good for appetite satiation, but NOT high in calories in the least!
